2 officers suspended after brutality allegations

Two Bridgeport police officers have been suspended as the department investigates whether they crossed the line into brutality.
Officials say a complaint was filed after Sergeant Paul Scillia and Officer Thomas Lattanzio made several arrests after being called to the scene of a family birthday party on Oct. 21.
The lawyer representing at least five of the adults at the party says the officers acted so violently while making the arrests, they dragged a 63-year-old woman down a flight of stairs.
The lawyer also says there was another incident later that night at Cafe Rio involving several students from the University of Bridgeport.  The lawyer claims the students were allegedly throwing bottle at the officers and the officers allegedly threw them back, striking the students.
The case has been filed in court.
