Motion filed claims timing of Mangano arrest was politically motivated

An attorney for Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano claims the timing of his arrest was politically motivated, even involving a former president.
According to the motion, Nassau's Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs held a meeting with former President Bill Clinton, asking for help in getting the US Attorney's Office to announce the indictments of Mangano and ex-Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto prior to the 2016 election.
Venditto's son Michael was running for re-election that year and ended up losing to his Democratic challenger by less than 50 votes.
Democrats mentioned in the motion have reportedly denied any such scheme.
