Long Beach residents say Sunday’s nasty weather was an eerie reminder of Superstorm Sandy, which came ashore exactly five years ago on Oct. 29, 2012.
The current storm was not expected to bring widespread flooding, but it was packing a punch with heavy rain, strong gusty winds, rough surf and dangerous driving conditions.
Long Beach residents were remembering Sandy’s destruction. The storm destroyed homes throughout the city, along with the iconic oceanfront boardwalk.
"It could be a lot worse considering the damage suffered from Sandy and what we are looking at now. I think we will do all right," said one resident.
