Best of Brooklyn: 13-year-old creates group to give back to others

A 13-year-old from Canarsie is on a mission to make the borough better, one act of kindness at a time.
Wynter Hubbard created a nonprofit group called Operation Give Back By Kids, to organize drives for people in need. She says the motivation behind the acts of kindness are simple.
"I'm doing it because I like to see people smile. My goal is to try and make people happy around the world, and try to change it around," she explains.
This weekend, the goal is to pack over 100 bags for the city's homeless. Volunteers were hard at work packing donated goods like socks, water and food collected from Wynter's school and community.
While many parents are concerned with teaching their teenagers the importance of giving back, parent Desiree Williams says she's blessed to be the one learning lessons from her daughter, Wynter.
"She just has a heart like that. We go out to the city, she sees people, and she just wants to help, so she just wants to help everybody and everything," Desiree says.
