New law allows East Hampton residents to vote on airport funding

A new law is allowing East Hampton residents to vote on funding plans for the town-owned airport.
According to Newsday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a new law this week that allows residents to decide on whether to accept federal or state funding for the airport.
Town Supervisor Larry Cantwell says the town board does not favor accepting future federal funding because it, "comes with strings attached."
The issue stems from local residents determined to regulate airport noise.
