The search for human remains at the Massapequa Preserve has ended after a second day of investigation.
Authorities say the search was triggered by a source who took investigators to a location in the preserve she believed a body was buried. Police say nothing was found.
Officials say there are no plans to continue the search Saturday.
For two days, investigators searched in the same area where police found the body of Julio Cesar Gonzales-Espantzay, of Valley Stream. Several alleged members of MS-13 were arrested in connection with Gonzales-Espantzay's killing.
Investigators brought in an all-terrain vehicle, heavy excavator and emergency service equipment to aid in the search. They also brought in several cadaver dogs.
The search came one day after authorities found a body inside Cow Meadow Park in Freeport, and a week after finding the body of 16-year-old Angel Soler in a wooded area in Roosevelt.
Sources tell News 12 that investigators suspect the MS-13 gang is responsible for Soler's death. Authorities say dozens of teens of Hispanic descent remain missing in both Nassau and Suffolk counties.
