Chuck D plays principal for a day in Roosevelt

Legendary hip-hop artist Chuck D came back to his former middle school Monday to serve as principal for the day.
Chuck D, whose real name is Carlton Douglas Ridenhour, was a founding member of groundbreaking rap group Public Enemy and now serves as one of the vocalists of rap-rock supergroup The Prophets of Rage.
"Roosevelt is my base, and you can't just call a place your base," he says. "You have to come back and actually do something in your base."
Since graduating Roosevelt Middle School decades ago, he says a lot has changed, including the technology in the classroom.
While Chuck D only stuck around for a few hours, students say they'll likely never forget the impression he made.
Public Enemy also featured Freeport native William Drayton Jr., better known as Flavor Flav.
