Fallen officer remembered with 2 memorial services

Special memorials were held Monday for a Nassau police officer killed in the line of duty five years ago.
Two memorial prayer services honored fallen Officer Arthur Lopez.
The first ceremony was held at Holy Rood Catholic Cemetery in Westbury, where Officer Lopez in buried.
The second was held on the bridge in Bellerose where Officer Lopez was shot and killed.
On Oct 23, 2012, Officer Lopez was shot and killed trying to arrest a hit-and-run driver along the Nassau-Queens border.
Lopez was posthumously promoted to detective.
