WEST BABYLON -

Eight people were injured Saturday after an SUV slammed into a Wendy’s in West Babylon.

Police say an 87-year-old man from Lindenhurst drove in reverse across Montauk Highway before crashing into the fast food restaurant.

News 12 was told that there were seven people inside the building at the time and they were all taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver was also taken to the hospital. There was no word on his condition.

A spokesperson for Wendy’s told Newsday that the restaurant will be closed until they assess the damage.
