A group of neighbors in Terryville say they want Town of Brookhaven officials to take action after a woman was attacked by two dogs Saturday night on Champlain Street.
Police say the woman was outside with her dog when a neighbor's two dogs ran over and attacked her.
Neighbors say she lost an ear and is still in the hospital.
They say they fear for their safety and want the dogs taken away from their owner.
"We're trying to find out why the Town of Brookhaven hasn't come by to take the dogs. Once they have blood in their mouth, you never know what's going to happen. There's a lot of kids on the block and a school right behind where she is and the dogs can definitely go over the fence," said one neighbor.
Suffolk police say the Suffolk County SPCA, Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter and the Suffolk County Department of Health have been notified.
