A Farmingville ice cream shop is stepping up security measures and adjusting closing times after it was robbed twice in a period of about 24 hours.
Police say they believe the same woman was behind both heists.
Officers responded to the Carvel shop on Horseblock Road around 10 p.m. Saturday night. A female suspect with a knife demanded cash from a worker in the shop.
As News 12 has reported, the same Carvel was robbed by a woman at knifepoint just about 24 hours earlier, on Friday night.
Police are looking for a woman who is between 5 foot 2 and 5 foot 5 inches tall, with long dark hair.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
