HEMPSTEAD -

People across Long Island are continuing to pitch in to help the victims left devastated in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

Nassau County Executive Ed  Mangano, the Nassau County Hispanic Advisory Board and the Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs are leading a donation collection at Circulo de la Hispanidad on Peninsula Boulevard in Hempstead.

They are asking for donations of baby supplies, including diapers, wipes and formula, plus other items like mosquito repellent, feminine hygiene products, first-aid supplies and nonperishable foods. Make sure donated items are not in glass bottles.

The donation collection will run on weekends through Oct. 22. People who can donate are urged to come down between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sundays.
