The wife of state Sen. Todd Kaminsky found messages of hate scrawled at a popular community park Wednesday.
Kaminsky says his wife was in Baldwin Park with their 2-year-old son when a swastika and the N-word were found drawn on a playground slide.
"My wife was extremely disturbed," says the state senator. "She was also grateful that our son is not yet able to read or know what he was looking at."
Park employees were able to remove most of the marking.
Hempstead Town Supervisor Anthony Santino says he is calling on the public for assistance in identifying the "hate-filled individuals who are responsible for committing this atrocity."
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the authorities.
