HICKSVILLE -

Police say a man broke into a Nassau restaurant, stopped what he was doing, and cooked a meal.

The incident happened at Nelly's Taqueria on Old Country Road in Hicksville.

The owners tell Newsday, they discovered a window open and money stolen from a cash register on Tuesday.

However, on the security video, they saw the thief put on a pair of food-service gloves, turn on the stove - and sauté some shrimp and chicken.
