The Islanders have made a bid to come back to Long Island.
The hockey team has officially submitted plans to build a new hockey arena at Belmont Park.
Developers say they want to create a world class sports and entertainment destination on a 43 acre plot next to the famous Elmont racetrack.
The pro-soccer team NYCFC also wants to build a stadium there.
The state group overseeing the process would not reveal who other bidders were or how many submitted plans by yesterday's deadline.
