Guide: Spray parks on Long Island

Looking to stay cool all summer long? News 12 Long Island compiled a list of some of the spray parks features across the island. Here they are in no particular order! NOTE: Operating hours, features and fees are subject to change. Call before heading out.

Bay Park

Fee: Free to Nassau residents; $10 parking fee for nonresidents.
More Information

Bay Park features a large playground with a spray park and on-demand sprinklers. The sprinkler playground includes three settings and a center console that sprays water out of nozzles. Water also shoots up from the ground and sprinkles out of the wall.

Blumenfeld Family Park

More Information

The water is user-controlled, with large buttons that kids can push to turn the water on. Three fountains go off in a timed pattern that lets kids run around and chase the water. There's also a mushroom waterfall and dump buckets. The park includes swings, monkey bars, slides and more.

Fee: $8 a person with a Town of Islip Recreation Card; $12 with proof of town residency (driver's license); $15 for a nonresident; $2 for a resident with a Town Senior Recreation Card or Permanent Town Disability Card; parking fees may apply.

At the Byron Lake Park Pool, there are two large swimming pools, including one with a large slide. The park also has a kiddie pool with sprinklers.

Cantiague Park

Fee: Open to all; resident with Leisure Pass pays $9 adult, $6 child, 13 and older must have their own Leisure Pass; nonresident fee is $25 adult, $20 per child.

Cantiague Park has an interactive water play area, which features a jungle gym with sprinklers that shoot water up from the ground. The park also has two pools, including a kiddie pool and two large water slides.

Clark Street Playground

The free sprinklers and splash park area on Clark Street and the bay includes water arches that kids can run through or underneath. Water sprays up from the ground; there's also a spider climber made of rope, and showers that feature water raining down on kids. The park also includes a playground, rope-climbing station and more.

More Information

Located in Field 2 at Eisenhower Park, the park has three playground areas and a large a free splash pool. There are large sprinkler rig with multiple spray heads.

More Information

The Tree of Life can be find at Geiger Lake Memorial Park, which has 25 different play elements. Children can cross a bride, go down one of three water slides, use the water cannons, bucket dumps, or rope-climb. There is also a large spider and snake water place set with spiraling slides.

There are three playgrounds in Grant Park, which accommodates different ages ranging from 1 to 12-years old. The free spray pool area is on a large concrete pad and includes overhead and grown-level water features.

Hoyt Farm Park Preserve

The splash park at Hoyt Farm Park Preserve features water arches for kids to run under, and overhead dump buckets. It is next to both a sand playground and a rubberized playground.

The spray pad in the Central Mall area also features chairs and umbrellas to stay in the shade. Parking is closest at Field 4.

North Woodmere Park

There are multiple playgrounds for different age groups at North Woodmere Park. The large pool complex features an Olympic-size pool, a diving pool with boards, a wading pool, training pool and an interactive water-play area with sprays, water guns and wheels to turn.

At Phelps Lane, there is a swimming pool, two water slides and an interactive spray pool featuring overhead dump buckets, water guns, a rope bridge and a children's pool. Phelps Lane also boats free Wi-Fi, handicapped-accessible ramp; picnic tables and lounge chairs.

The newly renovated park has flowers painted on the ground of the spray park, and a button that starts the gush out. There is a pirate ship on the other side of the park and an interactive component, which lets children listen to “The Little Mermaid” or “The Ugly Duckling.”

There's a small interactive splash park at Tanner Park with a round tree waterfall, a miniature water slide and several water sprouts coming up from the ground.
