Suffolk County is holding a back-to-school drive, with the goal of collecting 5,000 backpacks for homeless and at-risk students.
The event is being held in memory of Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone's former communications director, Scott Martella.
Martella was killed last year in a crash on the Long Island Expressway.
