Police: Suspect sought after man shot in North Bellport

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in North Bellport last night.
According to police, a man was walking on MacDonald Avenue, south of Brookhaven Avenue, when he was approached by an unknown black man wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt.
Police say the man shot the victim in the lower right leg and then fled at approximately 11:30 p.m.
The victim was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
