Garden City Park assistant fire chief ordered to stay away from family
Officials say a Garden City Park assistant fire chief has been ordered to stay away from his family.
They say Matthew Flood was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly threatening to kill his wife in front of his children.
His wife, Angela Alday, claims she has cellphone video taken in April showing Flood drunkenly punching a TV and breaking her cellphone.
"I have video of him ripping my bed apart, breaking the phone, my daughter screaming," Alday says. "Who is going to explain to my children when I'm dead?"
Flood's attorney says Alday is only trying to embarrass his client.
Flood was released without having to post bail and remains on active duty within the fire department.
