2 dogs found dead in crate in Port Washington

Officials says two pit bulls were found dead inside a crate Monday afternoon in Port Washington.
Prosecutors say the bodies of the 3-year-old dogs were found on Davis Avenue, right next door to the North Shore Animal League.
The Nassau SPCA says there were no signs of physical abuse.

"They were just lying next to each other in this crate," says Nassau SPCA's Gary Rogers. "We have a time frame when it may or may not have happened. Somebody put them there, somebody has to know."
Officials say it is unknown how the dogs died. They say a cash reward is being offered for anyone with information about the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Nassau County District Attorney’s tip line at (516) 571-7755.
