Police: Man broke into N. Bellmore home impersonating officer

NORTH BELLMORE -

Police are searching for a man who broke into a North Bellmore home and claimed he was an officer.

The incident happened on Pea Pond Road Saturday morning, where a man returned to his home and found another man in an upstairs bedroom.

News 12 is told the suspect yelled that he was a police officer and even showed a shield. 

The man got away after a struggle with the victim, who broke his arm and needed stitches.
