Police say a car windshield was smashed and cash from inside the vehicle was taken early Tuesday morning in the latest of a rash of car break-ins in Franklin Square.
Michael Salomon says money was taken from his mother's Ford Taurus on Franklin Street. He says the thieves took change from her cup holders.
Some residents say they thought the break-ins would have stopped after police arrested John Markou and Tyrese Chestnut, both 18, near Bly Court last week.
Authorities say a 21-year-old woman called police after observing three men going through her vehicle. Police say she then saw one of the men try different car doors on the block.
Police say a K-9 unit tracked down two men who allegedly had cash, a pocketbook and other stolen property on them. The third man is still on the loose, they say.
