Nassau residents graduate from the Civilian Police Academy

WOODBURY -

A graduation ceremony was held in Nassau Thursday night for the Civilian Police Academy.

Residents got the chance to join the academy for 14 weeks of specialized training.

The goal is to open up lines of communication and build trust between the police and the community.

Graduates are then able to meet with the academy each month, to help the police with problem solving techniques.
