Police say they are searching for a person who vandalized an East Meadow church.
They say the incident happened sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Officials say extensive damage, including a shattered front glass door and hateful graffiti, were found at the New Covenant Church on 757 Bellmore Ave.
They say the graffiti included words such as "cursed devil,"  "devil witch spells," and upside down crosses spray painted toward the back, side wall and on the steps of the church.
"With all the problems in the world, paint on the walls and a broken window, I think we can get over this," says Pastor Rob Taormina. "Already people have come together and said they’d help."
Taormina says he is now considering installing security cameras.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
