Pick your own strawberries at these LI farms

It's strawberry season at Long Island farms! Here's where to get your hands on some sun-ripened berries before they're all gone.

Wickham's Fruit Farm

It's U-Pick with a view! Stroll past the chicken pen and peach trees down to the strawberry patch, which overlooks the waters of Wickham Creek. When you've got all the berries you can carry, stop at the farm stand for fresh veggies and some of Wickham's famous doughnuts. After strawberry season at the farm in June comes cherries in July, then raspberries from July through September, blueberries in July and August, then blackberries and peaches, right through to apple season in September and pumpkins in October.

Open for U-Pick strawberries Monday thru Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Sunday. Farm stand open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Visit website for more info.

Glover Farms in Brookhaven

On Victory Avenue in Brookhaven, just past Strawberry Lane, sits Glover Farms. Tidy rows of plants are loaded with fresh berries that are just ripening. There's a children's play area and a pen with farm animals, and you can get your hands on fresh jams and local honey. Strawberry season is expected to last through the first week of July.

Patty's Berries and Bunches

Stroll through the berry patch, buy a bunch of field-grown cut flowers and enjoy some refreshments. Strawberry season lasts until the end of June, followed by raspberries, then blueberries and blackberries.

Lewin Farms

Scoop up a basket of fresh strawberries and then head across the street to the farm stand to load up on super-fresh produce, local honey, treats and more. Strawberries season is followed by raspberries, then blueberries and blackberries, peaches and apples starting in late august. Corn maze starts in mid-September, with pumpkins in November.

U-Pick is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Farm stand is open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Tuesdays. Visit website for more info.

Hank's Farmstand in Southampton

Pick your own berries and get fresh produce at the farmstand. Berries in summer at Southampton location, then pumpkins and maze in fall at Water Mill location.

Get some U-pick strawberries and stop in the farm stand for fresh produce. Strawberry season expected to last through Father's Day weekend. For the rest of the season, stop by for raspberries, blueberries, tomatoes, peppers, sweet corn apples and ending with pumpkins.

This farm and organic market offers U-pick strawberries, plus plants, fresh produce and more. $5 farm admission gets access to hay rides, activities, farm animals and picnic tables. Strawberry season lasts until the end of June, but it got a late start due to weather, so call ahead due to limited availability.
