Officials: Ex-Oyster Bay official Fred Ippolito dies in prison

Former Town of Oyster Bay planning commissioner Frederick Ippolito has passed away in prison. He was 78.
Ippolito pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges last year and was serving time in federal prison when he died on Sunday.
As News 12 has reported, Ippolito, who was in poor health, was sentenced to 27 months in prison
Ippolito admitted he received $2 million in outside consulting fees from a paving company while he was the town planning and development commissioner.
