Police say a nanny is accused of abusing a 2-week-old infant in Searingtown.
According to police, Stacy Sakeran, 57, of Queens, beat the newborn female that was in her care.
Police say at 1:40 a.m. Friday, the father of the baby heard his daughter cry out as if she was in pain.
The concerned parents then proceeded to review video from a camera installed in the baby’s room and observed Sakeran forcefully moving the baby around and slapping her in the face, police say.
The parents then viewed video from previous days and on May 30 observed the nanny yelling at the infant and striking her several times with an opened hand.
Police say Sakeran was placed under arrest at 4 a.m. in Searingtown and has been charged with two counts of assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
