Ocean Beach mayor announces termination of 1 a.m. Fire Island ferry

There are big changes for the Fire Island ferry as the summer season gets into full swing.
The mayor of Ocean Beach sent out a letter announcing an agreement with the ferry to discontinue the 1 a.m. ferry on weekends.
The 1 a.m. ferry leaving Ocean Bay Park is also canceled.
The last ferry will now leave at 11:15 p.m. on Fridays and 11 p.m. on Saturdays.
Water taxi services are also being restricted.
