Rain forces cancellation of some Memorial Day parades, events

The soggy Memorial Day weather has prompted the cancellation of several Memorial Day parades on Long Island.

Bay Shore Memorial Day Parade - CANCELED.

Bethpage Memorial Day Parade - CANCELED. The interfaith service at St. Martin of Tours at 8 a.m. continuing as scheduled.

Bohemia Memorial Day Parade - CANCELED. The fire department is holding a ceremony portion indoors at the fire house located at 950 Pearl Street at 10:30 a.m.

Calverton National Cemetery 2017 Memorial Day Services - CANCELED.

Freeport Memorial Day Parade - CANCELED.

Hicksville Memorial Day Parade - CANCELED. Ceremonies being held at 10 a.m. in the auditorium of the Middle School on Jerusalem Avenue.

Islip Town Parade - CANCELED. The American Legion Rusy-Bohm Post 411 located at 39 Nassau Ave. in Islip will be open at 11 a.m. and will conduct a Memorial Day Ceremony beginning at 12 p.m.

Lindenhurst Memorial Day Parade - CANCELED.

Plainview Memorial Day Parade - CANCELED. Ceremony being held at 10 a.m. at American Legion Hall, located at 115 Southern Parkway.
