ISLANDIA -

A replacement medallion honoring Long Island's war heroes was unveiled Saturday in Islandia.

Officials say the village's original United States Marine Corps memorial medallion was stolen in January.

The $2,000 needed for the new medallion was donated by Empire National Bank.

Anyone with information about the stolen medallion is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
