Students get sneak peek ahead of Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach

Some kids on Long Island got an up close and personal preview of one of the stars of this weekend's Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach.

News 12 Long Island's Erin Colton was at Republic Airport in Farmingdale with the world famous GEICO Skytypers.

The Skytpers pilots showed sixth-grade students at Atkinson School in Freeport what planes look like on the inside and how they operate.

The students were able to get a behind the scenes view as part of the Cradle of Aviation’s STEM program.

The Skytpers are performing this weekend at the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach on Saturday and Sunday.
