A man was fatally stabbed at a wedding celebration in Copiague Saturday night.

It happened around 8:20 p.m. at a backyard wedding that took place at a home on Amerigo Vespucci Avenue.

Police say two men who were attending the celebration got into a fight, and 28-year-old Angelo Rosario was stabbed in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

The other man was hospitalized for minor injuries, and is now in police custody. Officials say the suspect, who has not been identified, was drinking before the confrontation.

The bride's family says the argument broke out over a perceived insult. The man who was killed was the boyfriend of the bride's cousin, they say, and the bride is now distraught that her special day will be remembered with such violence.
