A North Massapequa father and son are facing animal cruelty charges.
The Nassau SPCA says Thomas Skuza and Thomas Skuza Jr. denied their dogs food and water, to the point that their ribs were showing.
The emaciated dogs were found at their North Queens Avenue home last week, officials say.
The SPCA says it is taking donations to pay for the extensive veterinary care needed for the dogs named Romeo and Damian.
