The William Floyd Parkway was back open Saturday at the Long Island Rail Road train crossing for the Montauk branch.

It opened after a day of repairs that shut down the busy thoroughfare for the Shirley-Mastic area.

Despite advanced warning, the closure caused some headaches on the road as people tried to get to work, run errands and prepare for Mother's Day.

The work was supposed to last all weekend. The roadway will remain open all weekend.
