A firefighter was injured battling a raging house fire in Lynbrook Friday night.

The blaze broke out at the Davidson Avenue home just after 8 p.m.

News 12 is told the homeowners were not inside the home when the fire occurred, but a dog and cat died in the blaze.

There is no word on the condition of the injured firefighter or what sparked the fire.
