WOODBURY -

Suffolk County has scrapped a controversial proposal to raise ticket fees.

As News 12 has reported, the county Legislature was considering a bill that would double the ticket fee from $55 to $110.

County officials had said the increase would cover administrative expenses associated with the moving violations.

Nassau County last year proposed a $105 ticket fee, but that was eventually cut to $55.
