$5K reward offered in knife-wielding robbery spree case

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a serial burglar who arms himself with a machete or large knife.

Police believe the man is behind more than a half-dozen incidents in both counties.

A sketch of what police think the suspect looks like has been released, and cops are now calling on the public to help identify him.

So far, police believe there are two robberies in Suffolk County that fit the pattern. In Nassau County, police say five robberies and an attempted robbery fit the pattern.

Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS
