Knifepoint robber targets Subway restaurant in Westbury

The serial robber who has been holding up Long Island eateries at knifepoint has apparently struck again.

Nassau police say the suspect robbed a Subway sandwich shop on Old Country Road in Westbury around 8:20 p.m. Saturday.

The robber held a knife to an employee, demanded money and then fled on foot. No one was injured.

The store manager says he got away with about $800.

As News 12 has reported, the same man is wanted for at least six other armed robberies in Nassau County, and three robberies in Suffolk. He has been captured on surveillance video in some of the incidents.

Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the man's arrest. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
