Centereach man pleads guilty to strangling wife
A Centereach man who was to go on trial on charges of killing his wife has pleaded guilty.
Joseph Jones pleaded guilty to manslaughter during jury selection yesterday.
Prosecutors say in 2010, Jones strangled Nicole Tessa during a fight over prescription pills.
According to prosecutors, Jones then buried her body in the woods near their North Patchogue home.
Jones will be sentenced to 18-and-a-half years in prison.
