Report: Postal worker's leg severed after being hit by car in N. Babylon

Police say a driver has been arrested after a postal worker was hit by a car in North Babylon. 



The incident happened when the driver of a Lincoln swerved off the road on Prairie Drive Tuesday afternoon. 



Detectives say the driver, Stefano Belloisi, 51, of Deer Park, hit the worker, the postal truck, a fire hydrant and a telephone pole. The postal worker has been idenfitied as a 40-year-old from Bayport. 



According to multiple reports, the postal worker's leg had been severed. 



Belloisi is being charged with reckless driving and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
