It was quite an honor to be given so much responsibility”
Korbel broke into broadcasting with WCBS News Radio 88 and then spent 17 years as an integral part of one of radio's most successful and long running programs, "Rambling with Gambling" on WOR Radio.
Korbel made the transition to television in 1993 when went to work at News12 Long Island.
"I try to keep my reports light and easy to understand. I just try to let the viewer know what kind of a day lies ahead and whether they'll run into any weather problems."
What does a weather forecaster do to relax? Why, get outside to enjoy it, of course.

"It sure beats the airlines," Korbel says. "I don't have to get to the airport two hours before a flight, I always get a window seat and never lose my luggage."
