Lukas went undercover to expose underage drinking at local bars, busted a sex offender who was living at a daycare center, went live for hours reporting on the miracle on the Hudson and covered the deadly crane collapse in Manhattan. Back in 2010, she investigated the LIRR and uncovered thousands of dollars being lost in unpunched train tickets.

Lukas started her career behind the scenes as a desk assistant at WABC-TV in New York City, working on the Eyewitness News morning show before landing a reporting job at WLNY TV 10/55 in Melville, where she also anchored a weekly update show.

A native Long Islander, Lukas attended Northport High School and then Dowling College, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Broadcast Communications. While at Dowling she played for the women's basketball team, going to the NCAA Division II tournament. Lukas has also taken graduate classes at NYIT.

When Lukas is not reporting, she loves to cook, read, travel, and work out. Most of all, Lukas loves spending time with her husband and three children, Joseph, Aubrey and Lukas.
