Elizabeth Hashagen co-anchors News 12 Long Island's Morning Show which airs weekday mornings from 5-8 am and co-anchors the Daytime show that airs from 8-11 am.

Since joining News 12 Long Island, Hashagen has covered breaking news stories from the anchor desk and throughout Long Island. She also handled News 12's live network coverage from Ground Zero during the days after September 11.

Beyond the anchor desk, Hashagen's assignments include her hard-hitting reports with gang members inside the Suffolk jail, recovering heroin addicts about the epidemic on the Island and her annual coverage of the ALS " Ride for Life." Viewers have joined Hashagen's energetic adventures inside the cockpit as she flew with the Navy's Blue Angels, rappelled from a water tower with Nassau Police Emergency Services, was attacked by Police K-9s, and went through Police EVOC, Firearms and Recruit Training. She has also been awarded for her weekly series including "Go Green," "Best of Long Island" and now "12 Making a Difference."

As a reporter and anchor, Hashagen has proven to Long Island viewers that she is a competent and compelling journalist, but with a big heart. She won her first Emmy Award in 2004 for her coverage of a Continuing News Story. Her six Emmy nominations in 2006 topped all other reporters and anchors around NY. She has gone on to win 11 Emmys, two National Headliner Awards, two National Gabriel Awards, a National Clarion Award, and was named a Top Female Journalist by the Newswomen's Club of New York, along with winning more than two dozen local and regional Associated Press and the Press Club of Long Island Awards.

Hashagen is a native Long Islander raised in Freeport and a graduate of Holy Trinity High School. She attended State University College at Cortland, the University of North London and took graduate classes at NYIT. Hashagen began her career in journalism at WLNY TV-55. As a reporter for the station's LIVE at 11 Newscast Hashagen covered a wide variety of assignments including Hillary Clinton's Senate race against Rick Lazio.

Hashagen is a certified fitness instructor and enjoys spending time with her family. She also loves fishing, scuba diving and kayaking. Hashagen and her husband Randy are the proud parents of a daughter, Allison Rae, and a son Timothy Paul.
