Fire guts home in Patchogue

Police say a home went up in flames in Patchogue last night.

According to officials, the house was already up in flames when they got there around 11:20 p.m.

One firefighter received minor injuries during what is called a flashover. That is when a whole room explodes into flames.

Officials say seven to eight residents are now homeless and the house is gutted.

Suffolk arson is on the scene, but it is not clear if it is considered suspicious.
