Community interfaith musical program held in RoslynPosted: Updated:
Muslims, Jews and Christians gathered Sunday to pray for peace.
The event was held at Temple Sinai in Roslyn as part of a community interfaith musical program.
The program was scheduled months ago, with the goal of stamping out prejudices against every religion.
Coincidently, Sunday's service came on the heels of the terror attacks in Paris, carried out by Islamic extremists.
Muslim community leaders who attended the event said the gathering was important because they want to get their message out that radical extremists do not represent their community.
"We will not let terrorists speak in our name and we will not have any fear of joining hands together or celebrating together," said Imam Dr. Ibrahim Negm, of the Islamic Center of Long Island
