A Uniondale man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for slashing another man with a box cutter.
Prosecutors say Wayne Speaks took part in a 2012 attack on a man at a Freeport motel. The victim was reportedly slashed several times and had his teeth knocked out.
Wayne Speaks pleaded guilty to the charges in November.
A case against another suspect in the attack in pending.
