Setauket doctor, Thomas Stavola, accused in fatal Smithtown DWI

A Setauket doctor is accused of driving drunk, killing another driver and then taking off.
Police say cardiologist Thomas Stavola was drunk behind the wheel when he crashed into a Middle Island woman's car on Route 111 in Smithtown in June.
Police say Stavola took off after slamming into Monica Peterman's car, but was caught about a block away.
Prosecutors say Stavola could be indicted within three weeks.
Peterman's family says they want Stavola charged with more than just DWI.
Prosecutors are still trying to determine the speed of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Stavola is due back in court Nov. 20.
