Pediatricians across the U.S. are reporting spot shortages of a popular flu vaccine used for infants or children with respiratory problems.

Vaccine makers say there was a recent manufacturing problem that temporarily reduced supply of the injected pediatric version of the vaccine.

Dr. Roya Samuels at North Shore LIJ's Cohen Children's Medical Center says they currently have enough supply of the popular vaccine. There are no reported supply problems with other injected versions of the vaccine or the nasal spray vaccine, which is for healthy adults and kids over 2 years old.

Vaccine manufactures say they should be able to get a normal supply of the pediatric versions back into doctor's offices in a few weeks.
