Suffolk demonstration calls for immigration reform
A demonstration held in Suffolk on Sunday called for lawmakers on Capitol Hill to pass comprehensive immigration reform.
The Brentwood event was attended by nearly 700 people. It was organized by the grassroots advocacy organization Make The Road, and it marked the group's sixth annual member meeting.
Immigrants from across Long Island attended to voice their frustrations with the slow immigration process, the fear of deportation and other struggles.
Many attendees called on President Barack Obama and lawmakers in Congress to move forward with reform.
