Juan Garcia, 19, accused of selling dangerous hallucinogen

An Amityville man is accused of selling synthetic drugs that left a Stony Brook University student hospitalized.

Prosecutors say 19-year-old Juan Garcia sold a new hallucinogen called Nbome.

According to Newsday, one man who took the drug had a seizure and is now suffering brain damage, kidney and liver failure.

Garcia was arrested for allegedly selling mushrooms to an undercover officer.

However, he is not charged with selling Nbome since it is not classified as a controlled substance.
